
Uri Hollander
School Philosopher
A cultural institution director, scholar, and writer, Uri Hollander is a graduate of the Israeli Conservatory of Music and of the Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Program for Outstanding Students at Tel Aviv University. He wrote his doctoral dissertation, which focuses on music in the poetic world of Natan Zach at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has held prestigious research fellowships at Harvard University, Ben-Gurion University, and Tel Aviv University, and has served as artistic director of the Israeli Poetry Festival, a columnist for Haaretz and Maariv, and a senior leader at several cultural institutions. He founded and leads Shenkar's MA Program in Leadership of Cultural Institutions and has received numerous honors, including a Fulbright Fellowship, the Dan David Prize Scholarship, the Minister of Education's Prize for Emerging Poets, and the Prime Minister's Prize for Creative Writers.
